Steve Gilbert started SG Signs in 1992. After Learning the Sign Trade working for Some of the UK largest Sign Companies.

Between 1984 - 1986 Steve worked for 3 sign companies in Sussex, Savoy Signs, Pearce Signs and Bush Signs as an Sign fitters Mate, learning the trade mainly on the Neon side of the Industry, working at Gatwick airport and the London Underground, then in 1987 he moved to Tara Signs as a Sign Fitter, working mainly on the automobile sector (Citroen, Nissan, Mazda, Renault) before moving to a small Sign installation company Finch signs in 1989. Who worked for several big nationwide sign companies.
Then in 1990 when Finch Signs ceased trading, Steve went back to Pearce Signs(Wessex) on a self employed basis, where he worked mainly in the banking and pub sector, re branding Barclays Bank, Lloyds Bank, The Harvester pubs and Courage pubs. Before setting up his own business.

SG SIGNS THE BEGINNING
In 1992 SG Signs was born, with work from Pearce Signs and Oldham Signs Ltd, 2 of the largest Sign companies in the UK. We had contracts that covered the south of England, for Installation and maintenance with Several major companies, including BP, Texaco, Murco, Mcdonalds, KFC, Mercedes Benz, Ford, Rover, Barclays Bank, Lloyds Bank, Nat West Bank, Abbey National, Portman, Lunn Poly, Dixons, PC World, Currys, Piccadilly Circus and many more.
